'If a player is reluctant to speak directly to a club about his contract, I would always recommend they use the PCA. Most of the agents I deal with are decent, but I know the PCA undoubtedly have the best interest of the player at heart. They also have a good idea of what is good for the player and the game as a whole. This does not always mean that holding out for a significant pay rise or going to the highest bidder is the best thing to do.
